RW Garcia Tortatos are half tortilla & half potato chip

We really like chips in my family. All kinds and with different dips. I like plain chips with french onion dip and I also really love chips and salsa! Since I have tried what seems like dozens of chips over the years I was seriously intrigued by the first every tortilla chip to be verified by the Non-GMO project from RW Garcia. Their Tortatos is half tortilla and half potato chip so it had to be tasty since it is combining two yummy things. I was not disappointed!

Seven WOWs for Chips – Products featured at ExpoWest

The annual Natural Food expo for retailers held over the weekend in Anaheim had a large number of offerings. So what chips did we taste causing us to stop and say WOW! SEVEN TIMES?

While many people may think “health foods” are as old as the late 1990’s massive expansion of Whole Foods or even Trader Joe’s; the reality is some of the natural food products are now second and third generation companies!

The annual Natural Food expo for retailers held over the weekend in Anaheim had a large number of offerings by up and coming companies hoping to break into major retailers; established brands introducing new flavors or more efficient products; and suppliers.   Today I’ll focus on a few of the REALLY tasty chips I sampled.

So what did we taste causing us to stop and say WOW!  SEVEN TIMES?

This is a tasty combination of POTATO AND CORN TOGETHER IN ONE CHIP.  According to their website “ the idea for Tortatos began with a simple question from a young member of the RW Garcia family: Why isn’t there a tortilla chip that tastes like a potato chip?”

Tortatos: A Perfect Marriage of Tortilla and Potato Chips

Move over potato chips & tortillas, there’s a new snack in town: introducing Tortatos – a chip that’s made of both white corn and red potatoes.  It takes the best aspects of a tortilla chips and a potato chip and wraps them into one. I recently received some for review. Here’s what I thought:

Tortatos are like nothing you’ve tasted before!  The shape is like a Pringle but the texture is a little different – it’s thicker and has more substance, so it’s more filling than a regular potato chip.  Tortatos have 25% less fat than traditional potato chips and they are not oily like most potato chips, so they don’t leave your hands greasy.  They’re Non-GMO, trans fat free and gluten-free certified.
